Welcome to Hyve. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Hyve mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Hyve. By creating an account you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Hyve is designed for friendships, communities, and shared experiences — not for dating, hookups, or commercial promotion. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in account removal:
We use automated photo moderation (Amazon Rekognition) and human review of reports to enforce these guidelines.
If you see content or behavior that violates these Terms, use the report button on the offending user's profile. We review every report and may remove content, suspend, or permanently ban accounts. We will not share the identity of the reporter with the reported user.
You retain ownership of the photos, messages, and other content you post on Hyve ("Your Content"). By posting Your Content, you grant Hyve a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and transmit it solely for the purpose of operating the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain it to comply with the law or enforce our Terms.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to share it.
Hyve Plus is an optional paid subscription that unlocks advanced filters, message gating, private activities, and other premium features. Payments, when launched, will be processed by Apple or Google through the App Store / Play Store and are subject to their billing terms. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your platform's subscription settings. Refunds, where applicable, are governed by the relevant platform's policies.
While Hyve Plus is in pre-launch, the in-app toggle is for testing only and does not bill you.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of information shared by other users. We do not verify the identity of users beyond the in-app peer verification system, which is informational only. Use common sense when meeting people from the app in person: meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and trust your instincts.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hyve, its operators, and its processors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or US $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hyve and its operators from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
You may stop using Hyve at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your continued use poses a risk to other users or to us. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 — will do so.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of Hyve is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply. If you are a consumer in the EU, nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you in-app of material changes. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
